We're supporting a fast-growing GreenTech company building tools that help businesses reduce emissions, track energy usage, and meet climate goals. Their platform is used by organizations across Europe and is expanding quickly. To support this growth, theyre hiring a Junior Backend Developer to join their remote-first engineering team.

Youll work with experienced developers and product teams to build scalable backend services in a modern, cloud-native environment while gaining exposure to sustainability-focused digital infrastructure.

What Youll Do

• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs in Python or Node.js
• Collaborate with product managers and frontend developers to launch new features
• Write clean, well-documented code with unit tests and CI/CD pipelines
• Learn from senior engineers and grow your backend and cloud development skills
• Contribute to technical decisions and documentation across the engineering team

What Were Looking For

• 13 years experience as a backend developer or equivalent project/internship work
• Comfortable working with Python or Node.js in production environments
• Familiarity with relational databases and REST APIs
• Understanding of cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) is a plus
• Interest in sustainability, energy tech, or climate-focused digital solutions
• Fluent in English and based in the EMEA region

• GitHub Actions, Terraform, CI/CD

Work Setup

This is a fully remote position open to candidates across EMEA. Youll be hired directly by the GreenTech company and onboarded virtually. Depending on your location, payroll may be managed through a local partner for compliance and smooth setup. Co-working space access is available in select European cities.
